George W. Behr

George W. Behr, age 94 of Riverside, OH passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Traditions of Beavercreek. He was born September 10, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles and Myrtle (Toombs) Behr. George married Lois Copeland on November 9, 1943 in Dayton, OH.

George worked as an inspector at NCR for 35 years and worked 7 years as the Maintenance Supervisor at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. He loved to golf, ride his bicycle and watch his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. George truly enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, especially the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by all.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Brookdale of Kettering and Traditions of Beavercreek for their loving care and compassion during George's residency.

George is survived by a daughter, Beverly A. (Thomas) Grove; five grandchildren, Thomas (Trisha) Grove, Teresa Grove, Barbara (Ron) Goralski, Robert (Cari) Behr and David (Lisa) Behr; twelve great grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Rachel, Taylor, Kayla, Ian, Tessa, Alyssa, Sam, Trevor, Hunter and Marissa; a sister, Earlene Morton; a daughter-in-law, Sue Behr; nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois; his parents; a son, Michael Behr; two brothers, Donald "Ted" and Earl Behr.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.
