Genna Anderson

Genna Anderson was born on April 16, 1940, in Hazard, Kentucky. She passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in Xenia, Ohio.

Genna was a kind and loving soul who never harmed a fly. She loved to catch and release them gently, always showing care for the smallest creatures. She had a wonderful sense of humor and often changed the subject with a smile, bringing lightness to any conversation. Genna never complained and had a heart full of love.

She worked at J.C. Penny for a short while, where she met some good friends she cherished. One of her special hobbies was collecting bells, a passion that brought her joy over the years.

Genna is survived by her siblings, George Messer and Tex Messer; her nephews and niece, Lewis (Ting), Mike (Sarah), Kevin (Lexi), Scott, and Christina; and many precious great-nieces and great-nephews who all remember her fondly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Artie Messer; her sons, Gary W. Anderson and Steve Anderson; sister, Dixie (Carroll) Lewis; and brothers, Bill Messer and Gary Anderson.

Genna’s kindness and love touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
