Gay LaShain Kelly

Gay LaShain Kelly, of Dayton, was born on April 28, 1953, in Dayton, and passed away on October 26, 2026. She will be remembered as a woman whose life was grounded in devotion to family, steady work, and the simple comforts that brought her lasting joy.

She was a graduate of Roth High School and went on to earn her associate degree from Sinclair Community College. Gay built a long and faithful career, working as a data clerk for UCI Midwest for more than 40 years. Her dedication and consistency spoke to the quiet strength with which she moved through life and the care she brought to her responsibilities.

Beyond her work, Gay found deep comfort in music. She loved to listen to it, and it brought her peace, joy, and tranquility. Above all, she loved her family and cherished her grandchildren, who were a special source of happiness in her life.

She leaves to treasure her memory her son, Rachede Kelly and daughter-in-law Christina; her sisters, Yvonne and Rachel; her beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Rachay'a, Robert, J'Marco, J'Shanna, Eric, and Elijah; and numerous great-grandchildren who brought joy to her life. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her deeply. May the love she gave so freely and the memories she created remain a lasting comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Gay is now reunited with her daughter, who preceded her in death; Ta'Shanna Williamson; her parents, William Clayton Roebuck and Amanda Kelly; and her grandparents, Horus and Bertha Kelly.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. Family invites friends and loved ones to come together to share memories and celebrate Gay's life.
