Gary Taylor, age 78 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Dayton V.A. Hospice. He was born December 4, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia the son of the late James and Kathleen Taylor. Gary Served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He had a long career working as a foreman for Hobart FEG, (later ITW), retiring after 41 years. He was a member of VFW Post 6560, a seven time past Commander, and he enjoyed time spent at social gatherings there. Gary was a member of the Masons. He was skilled in auto mechanics and loved working on Cars. Gary will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his Sister, Brenda Bishop, and his parents.
Gary is survived by his Wife, Anna Taylor; Daughters, Tanya (Alfred Williams) Williams, and Sheila (Michael Wells) Lee; Grandsons, Harlen Daugherty, Christopher Gregory, and Matthew Wells; Granddaughter, Freida Tompkins; Several Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; Sisters, Pat Cook, Nance Soloman, and Mary Kay Taylor; and by numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dayton VA Hospice.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 5, from 5:30PM - 7:30PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Ketterin (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439). A Service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, at 10:00AM at the Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428)
