Gary D. Latham, age 79 of Beavercreek, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 28, 1939 in Tollesboro, Kentucky to Ray and Irene (Harrison) Latham. Gary married Janet Stutz on July 17, 1965 in Dayton, OH.
Gary proudly served his country for 8 years in the US Army and US Air Force Reserves. He retired from I Supply Company in 1999 where he served as Executive Vice President of the company. After retiring, Gary and Janet, along with their son Josh, opened up a Submarine House in Xenia, which they owned for 8 years. He enjoyed golfing, boating, and traveling in their motor home. Gary was a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge, received the Scottish Rite as a Mason and was a Shriner. He also was a member of the Milton Athletic Club, Walnut Grove Country Club and the Greene Country Club. Gary loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren Willow and Elowen, and will be greatly missed by all.
Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet; a son, Joshua R. (Heather) Latham; two grand daughters, Willow and Elowen; a sister in law, Jackie Stutz; two nieces, Debbie and Julie; two nephews, John and Jeff; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother in law, Don Stutz.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, December 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A Memorial Service will follow the gathering at the funeral home at 7:00 pm, preceded by Masonic and Scottish Rite services.
