Gary L. Haynes

Gary L. Haynes, 78, lifetime resident of Dayton, Ohio died peacefully at his home in the early morning on January 29, 2026.

He was a USNR veteran who proudly served with a Naval Security Group in Kamaseya Japan during the Vietnam conflict. A graduate of Belmont High School class of 1965, and Sinclair Community College, he pursued a career in accounting, business, and service management.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Lenita Lindsay Haynes; son David; son Randall (Laurie) and his beloved granddaughters Christina and Emily Haynes of Franklin, TN.

Also surviving are cousins Teri Topp, Lebanon, Ohio and Monna Nickeson, Myrtle Beach, SC.

Gary was a devoted member of David’s United Church of Christ, 170 W. David Road, Kettering, OH, where a memorial service and celebration of life will be held Saturday April 4, at 1:00 PM for family and friends. If desired, contributions can be made to “David’s Church” or Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in his memory.
