Gary W. Knight

Gary Wayne Knight, born April 21st, 1968, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on June 21st, 2025, at the age of 57 after a short, but extremely difficult battle with cancer. He passed just as he lived, surrounded by Love and his family.

Gary lived his life for his children. Nothing was more important to him in this world. He was known far and wide for his larger-than-life personality and his wonderfully boisterous sense of humor. He had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and never turned down an opportunity to learn something new. He was an avid History buff and always loved delving into the world of the past and sharing his wealth of knowledge with others.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Conseula Mardis (Knight)

His memory lives on in his mother, Shirley Ruppert, his four children, Heather Nickerson (Larry Nickerson), Heidi Thompson (Chase Thompson), Erich Knight, Clara Knight, his partner Heather, his five grandchildren Jace, Felix, Bryce, Dietrich, and Harper, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Graveside Services will be held at Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, @ 10:00 AM

A wake to remember Gary’s life and legacy will be held directly following the services at the Amvets of Kettering, Post 2003. We invite all to attend to say our final goodbyes.
