Gary Frank Barhorst

Gary Frank Barhorst, 81, passed away at home on February 21, 2024. Loving father of Jeff (Shannon) Barhorst and Craig (Caroline) Barhorst, cherished grandfather of Garrett, Gretchen, Colin (Kara Yost), Charles and Carson, adored brother of Marvin (JoAnn) Barhorst and Karen (Joe Antku) Winn. He is also survived by his nephew Michael (Noel) Barhorst, niece Jessica Winn and special friend Carolyn Beck.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Romilda Barhorst and nephew Brian Barhorst.

Gary was a proud Navy veteran. He worked as a computer programmer and was previously a hardware store owner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

He loved to attend his grandchildren's activities such as sporting events and telling stories from his life. Family dinner conversations were very lively. His presence will be forever missed but his legacy will live on.

Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) on Wednesday February 28, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day at St. Nicholas Catholic Church (128 Church St, Osgood, OH 45351) at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at St. Martin Cemetery.
