Garry L. Ramon, a beloved husband, uncle, and friend, was born on December 15, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio. He departed this world on September 22, 2024, leaving a light that will forever shine in hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
Garry dedicated many years of his life as a Security Guard with Merchant Security Services. His diligence in his career was paralleled by his remarkable character—he was a man known for his warmth, kindness, and his sense of humor. Garry’s humility and respect for others painted a portrait of a soul that never said a bad word about anyone. His presence was a reminder of joy; his family lovingly reminisces that when Garry entered a room, it lit up, transforming ordinary moments into cherished memories.
Education was also important to Garry. He graduated from Patterson Co-op in 1968 and continued his studies at Sinclair Community College, where he cultivated not just knowledge but a passion for learning.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Garry served during the Vietnam War, a testament to his commitment and bravery. He was a member of the American Legion Huber Heights Post # 200 and D.A.V. Unit # 9. His dedication both in service and in life reached out to embrace everyone around him, especially the children. He was, at heart, a kid himself. A devoted uncle, Garry cherished the countless moments spent with his nieces and nephews. With a camera always in hand, he loved capturing their joyful expressions and the lively moments of their childhood—each snapshot a treasure, each smile a testament to the love he held for them.
Garry's pride and joy were embodied in his marriage of 30 years to his wonderful wife Nancy, whom he adored for 47 beautiful years. He is survived by Nancy Ramon, his loving mother-in-law Mary Spurgeon, 13 nieces and nephews, 36 great-nieces and great-nephews; 16 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and cousins. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to thrive through the generations he so joyfully embraced.
He joins in eternal peace his parents, Guadalupe Ramon and Bessie Lucas, and half-brother Rickey Ramon Cruz. Their spirits welcome him home as Garry remains forever cherished by all whose lives he touched.
