Franklin D. Swiney, age 78, of Huber Heights, was reunited with his wife, Joyce Swiney, on March 11, 2018. Frank was born June 3, 1939, in Pikeville, KY to the late Woodrow and Mary Swiney. Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Joyce Swiney; two sons, Frank "Joe" Swiney and Danny "Rick" Swiney; sister, Ruby (Worth) Clevinger; brothers, James Harold (Shelby) Swiney, John (Fannie Mae) Swiney, and Homer "Paul" (Sue) Swiney; and his faithful friend, Max.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory, loving daughter, Lisa (Scott) McCune; step-son, Randy Williams; sister, Maudie Felicano; grandchildren, Ethan, Ashley, Nicholas, Savannah, and Joshua; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Vincent, Killian, Alina, Nevaeh, Isaiah, and Araiah; his best fur-friends, Sammy and Mickey; close friends that became family; and numerous extended family and friends that meant so much to him.
Frank was a man of faith, devoted to his family, kind, and respectful. Hands down, he earned the title, "Best Dad". He loved to laugh and more importantly, to make others laugh. He retired from Arthur Painting Co. Prior, he worked at Chrysler Dayton Plant and was a proud member of the Union, where he met his sweetheart, Joyce.
He was known for helping others. Frank was gentle and caring; and loved being around the elderly, children, and animals. He enjoyed spending his time outside, traveling, gospel and 50's music, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The family will accept friends at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton) Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 12pm - 1pm. With the funeral service to follow at 1pm. Entombment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery (8135 N. Dixie Dr.).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
