Forrest Nelson Brown, age 77 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He was born October 4, 1941 in Dayton, OH, the son of the late Forrest and Alylene Brown.
Nelson is survived by his partner, Roberta Cook; sons, Jeffrey Brown, Mark (Colleen) Brown; grandchildren, Tony (Erica) Brown, Nicole Brown, Jacob Brown, Samuel Brown, Jordan Brown, Katie Brown; great grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb; sister, Judy (Roger) Fetters, Mary Jo (Jim) Roy; brother, Charles Allen (Cathie) Brown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Nelson graduated from Phillipsburg High School, Class of 1959. He also served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #668 in Vandalia. Nelson worked for Sherwin Williams for 25 years and retired from Ideal Image. He was also one of the founding members of the Browns Backers of Greater Dayton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 9 am to 10 am at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424). A Memorial Service will begin at 10 am. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:45 am at Dayton National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dayton V.A. Hospice Palliative Care Unit, in Nelson's memory.
