Fern D Lawson

Lawson, Fern D, age 71 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on April 6, 2017. Fern was born in Kentucky to the late Dave and Marie Griffitts. Fern married Jasper Lawson on July 28, 1968 and the two settled in Beavercreek to start a family and lay down roots. Fern devoted her life to the service and care of others. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a registered nurse for many years. Fern enjoyed gardening and traveling in her free time. She and Jasper traveled all over the world together. Fern was very creative and enjoyed quilting for her friends and family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Fern was preceded in death by her brother, Homer Griffitts.

Fern leaves behind to cherish her memory, loving husband of 49 years Jasper Lawson; son David Lawson; granddaughter, Macie Marie Lawson; sister, Lorene Nels; brother, Wayne Griffitts; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 4pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel. A funeral service for Fern will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1:30pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
