Fay E Angel (Jeanie)
Fay Emogene Angel (Jeanie), age 78, of Dayton, passed in peaceful sleep December 31, in the sweet care of Hospice of Dayton, supported by treasured prayers of family and friends. The first of 7 children (Jeanie, Laura Ella, Barb, Malcum, William, Dianna, Mary), Jeanie was born to a coal miner in Kentucky. Jeanie grew up nurtured in love and safety by her large extended family of faith. Early years were filled with sunny days of adventure, family play mates, and school pals. Jeanie's lifelong love of people and ability to easily make friends started early. Her family went where the coal was and eventually settled in West Virginia. After graduating from Oceana High School, she left for Dayton where she graduated cosmetology school, married (John Laudahn), and started a family (daughter, Lisa Laudahn Cousins). In 1967, she divorced, and married again (Eugene "Gene" Angel). Together, they built 4 successful businesses (Angel Custom Homes and 3 salons: Hair Etc.; Four Seasons; and Forest Park Plaza). Jeanie loved her work and described it as, "I help make my ladies more lovely; and the men more handsome." She took a career break to have and raise son, Nathan Angel. Husband Gene led each family member to Jesus as personal Savior: Jeanie first, then Lisa and Nate, and later grandson (Brock Angel). Gene and Jeanie sought to root their family in God's word, Christian fellowship, and to 'bless and be blessed.' Wherever Jeanie walked, people were loved lavishly and blessed! Jeanie enjoyed a second hair stylist career in several assisted living centers. She retired in 2013 at age 71, after more than 5 decades of doing hair, to care for her husband. Her strength and endurance were always punctuated by her common confession: "Lord, you've always been so good to me -- ALL my life!" Even in her last years, enduring dementia, which never extinguished her sweetness nor dampened her spirits or radiant smile, her loving heart was open to all who drew near. Always first to acknowledge another, give a kind word, or wave - she loved people till the end! She knew her walk with Jesus was a lifelong adventure to see others blessed and experience God's love by her. She knew and lived the Words of God: "Love never fails," and she knew His name is Jesus. Today, Jeanie is safe in the arms of Jesus who graciously granted Jeanie's desire to see her 78th birthday (Dec. 19) to which He also added: Christmas Day (visiting family and friends at the BeeHive Home); New Year's Eve day (shared with family, marked by showers of heaven-sent comforts and new friends at Hospice); and a final New Year's Eve family night (gathered round her bed, holding hands, sharing hymns, reminiscing, and thanking Father God for His sweet presence and care). God's love flowed through Jeanie till her last breath. We celebrate knowing she fulfilled her life's purpose, and we look forward in faith and great joy to see the redeemed of the Lord - raised up - unto life eternal in the glory and presence of our Lord, The Lord of lords and King of kings, Jesus Christ, God's Son. Our sweet, beloved, precious Jeanie will be there! To Him be all glory and praise, Amen!
