Evert Vernon Kinnaird, age 78 of Dayton, passed away on April 9, 2017 in the company of his wife, Gloria and his son, Mark. Vern was born on April 25, 1938 in Kingsport, TN to the late Harold and Goldie (Walters) Kinnaird. In addition to his parents, Evert was preceded in death his beautiful daughter, Angie Kinnaird. Evert has a loving sister, Shirley (Arlie) Tolliver and brother, Harold (Barb) Kinnaird.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria Faye Kinnaird; sons, Mark (Ruth) Kinnaird; and Tony (Melissa) Kinnaird; grandchildren, Alex and Diana and their children-Jaden and Makayla; Amanda and Chris and their children-Liam and Remi; Courtney and Michael and their children-Aurorah and Savannah; Jessica (Jay) and Andy; Sebastian and Marissa; Rheanna and Dillon and their daughter, Harper. Along with their neighbor Teresa and Evert and Gloria's dog, Chase.
Evert worked and retired from Huber Heights City Schools. He enjoyed shooting with his son, Mark, Evert was a man of few words but he could always be heard telling his granddaughter "I'll jerk a knot in your tail." He had a smile a mile wide and a heart as big as the moon. Vern worked hard and provided for his family.
A memorial gathering will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd.
