Everett Ray Gibson, age 82 of Dayton, passed away December 4, 2020. He was born August 4, 1938 in Lackey, Kentucky to the late Hiram and Vivian Gibson. In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his wives: Barbara Sue Gibson and Edna Gibson; son, Randy Gibson; great-grandson, Colten James Gibson; sisters: Lorene Gibson and Mabel Collins; brothers: Harold Dean Gibson and James Gibson; and brother-in-law, Donald Slusher.
Everett is survived by his son, Steve Gibson (Bonny); daughter-in-law, Carol Gibson; grandsons: Mark Gibson (Emily), Christopher Gibson (Laura Green), Joey Gibson (Kaylena Shaw) and Shaun Gibson; great-grandsons: Christian and Carter; sisters: Eulah Snader (Jimmy), Linda Slusher and Erma Jean May (Bill); brothers: Paul Gibson (Joyce) and Kenneth Gibson (Linda); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special friend, James Caplinger.
Everett was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Everett was a very spiritual man. He loved playing music, camping, woodworking and fishing.
Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 pm on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial and military honors will follow at Willow View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Everett's memory to the Dayton VA.
