Evelyn Wagers

Evelyn Wagers, age 90 of Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2025. She was born March 2, 1935 in Barboursville, Kentucky daughter of the late Oscar and Odie (Jackson) Patterson.

Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, grandma new toy, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, thrift store shopping, and spending time with her family. She had a heart of gold and she took care of everybody around her. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Wagers; brothers, Luster, Russell, Arnold Lee, Ronald, Mitchell, Oscar Jr. and Carnes Patterson; sisters, Essline Phillips and Tressie (Sam) Mosley; brother-in-law, Benton Jones.

She is survived by her children, Brenda (Dwight) Jones, Carol Messer, and Lois (Roy) Robinson; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sister, Marie Jones; brothers, Custer, Clyde and Claude, and Glenn Patterson; sister in laws, Rannie Patterson and Geneva Smith; brother-in-law, Clyde Phillips; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
