Evelyn Jane Schlemmer, of Zelienople Pennsylvania, passed from this world into eternity after a long, full life, on September 14th 2024, at the age of 91, in the home of her daughter, Joy Bulger in Atlanta, Georgia.
Born May 31, 1933 in Evensberg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Lester and Martha Hoffman. She had two younger sisters.
Jane proudly served as a military wife, alongside her husband Frederick “Fritz” in the US Air Force for 30 years. During his military career, they enjoyed great adventures and lived in many places with their children and friends in Bermuda, Germany, Holland, Venice, Massachusetts, Ohio, amongst other places.
In their retirement, Jane enjoyed traveling with Fritz and their dogs in their RV. They saw 49 states over the many years on the road. They frequented our national parks, stopping along the way to visit with friends and family. Hawaii was the only state Jane didn’t make it to.
Jane loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
Jane was an artist. She could sew, crochet, draw and paint. She was always learning a new craft and practicing the old ones. She made many gifts for her family- Barbie clothes and fabulous Halloween costumes, painted rocks, jewelry, and many decorated cakes over the years.
Jane never knew a stranger, she was outgoing, funny and a loyal, lifelong friend to many. Jane will be remembered for her integrity, sense of humor, spunk and her devotion toward her sweetheart (they were happily married for 72 years).
Above all, she was a loving wife, a wonderful, mother, a lifelong friend, a great grandmother who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Joy Bulger and Patty Ray and their husbands Cap and Jim, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
