Evalee Hill

Evalee Hill, a beloved matriarch and fierce spirit, entered this world on September 11, 1934, and departed peacefully on June 25, 2025. Her vibrant personality and unwavering will made profound impacts on the lives of all who knew her.

Evalee was an avid lover of cats, dedicating countless hours to rescuing those in need. Her home was a sanctuary for her feline companions, each one experiencing the boundless love she possessed. This same love extended beyond her pets; she cherished her family deeply—a bond that will be felt forever.

In her garden, Evalee poured her heart and soul into nurturing life. The flowers that flourished under her care mirrored her spirit; resilient, beautiful, and full of warmth. Gardening was not merely a pastime for her; it was a reprieve, a joyous escape filled with the soothing sounds of nature and, often, the melodies of her favorite country music playing softly in the background.

Evalee’s legacy continues through her devoted children, Leesa Johnson Puterbaugh (Roger) and Jeffery Hill (Mindy), who carry forward the values and love imparted by their mother. She took immense pride in her grandson, Joe Hill IV, who resides in Cleveland with a beloved great-granddaughter, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.

Evalee joins her beloved son, Joe Hill III, along with her former husbands and the fathers of her children, William L. Kruse and Joe Hill Jr. She is reunited with her cherished parents, Lester and Gladys Dotson, and is at peace with her siblings, Lester Dotson Jr. and Ethel Greene.

As we bid farewell to Evalee Hill, we remember a woman of strength and passion—a true lover of animals and a devoted mother. Her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched, reminding us all of the beauties of love, kindness, and resilience.

Family and friends are welcome to gather from 5:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio. Evalee's Memorial Service will begin at 6:00pm.
