Eunice Marie Troutt, a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, quietly departed this life on September 10, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on September 6, 1941, in Stewart, West Virginia, Eunice was a beacon of light and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
With a dedicated career spanning thirty years at General Motors, Eunice devoted her life to her work until her retirement in the early 2000s. She approached every task with the same heartfelt dedication she offered to her family. Known affectionately as "Mom" by those around her, Eunice had an unmatched ability to forge connections with everyone she met, always making time to celebrate life's special moments, such as birthdays. It was not uncommon for her to give a card to anyone she knew on their special day—a small yet profound testament to her caring nature.
Eunice's personality shone brightly like the stars in the night sky. She was cherished by all, frequently recognized for her bluntness and direct approach to life; if you needed an honest opinion, she was the person to turn to. Her unwavering belief that everyone had goodness at their core endeared her to many. Her family knew her as a great listener, someone who could sit quietly and absorb your thoughts and feelings, offering wisdom and understanding without judgment.
Her love for Jesus was evident in her faithful attendance at Bible Study every Friday with her dear family, Wanda and Fred. Eunice found joy in simpler pleasures—doing yard work, walking three miles each day with her beloved dog Rocky, and the happiness that came from family gatherings and decorating for fall with her cherished scarecrows. The laughter and love shared during these occasions, especially during festive holidays, were among her greatest joys.
Eunice took immense pride in her family, often stating that it was her proudest accomplishment. She opened her heart to everyone, treating each person with the same unwavering love and respect. Eunice is survived by her adopted son Shane (Gina) Anders, her cherished grandchildren Alex Anders and Chad (Tarah Combs) Anders, and her great-grandson, Kade Anders. She also leaves behind her great-niece, Betty Ann Cunningham, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family who are all blessed to have known her.
Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Troutt, as well as her parents, Lucille and Jerry Davis, and all eight of her siblings. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that continues to bind us all.
The legacy of Eunice Marie Troutt will forever be etched in the lives she touched. She was a remarkable soul whose spirit will always shine brightly in the lives of her loved ones. Her presence will be deeply missed but her impact will remain with us, as enduring as the values of kindness and love that she so passionately embodied.
