Eugene W. Willis

Eugene W. Willis, age 98 of Springfield, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at home. He was born September 18, 1927 in Gallia County, Ohio the son of the late Elwin and Louise Willis.

Gene proudly served his country in World War II in the United States Army. After his service, he worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Wight Patterson Air Force Base and retired after many dedicated years. In his free time, he and his wife Carol, enjoyed square dancing and water skiing. Gene will be remembered for his generosity; always willing to help others in need.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lee Willis; son, Richard K. Willis; and siblings, Mary Lou Swick, Jim Willis and Joe Willis.

Gene is survived by his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Willis and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Visiting Guardian Angels, especially, Tina Sellars, Tracey Jordan, Karen Adams and Olivia Sellars for the excellent care they provided Gene during the last years of his life.

Gene will be laid to rest next to his family at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
