Ethelda Izor, age 99, of Farmersville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025. Born on July 9, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio, Ethelda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished quality time spent with her family.
Ethelda graduated from Farmersville High School, where she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Izor, who was a B-24 pilot and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Their partnership flourished through the years, built on a shared commitment to family and a deep bond of love. Ethelda's creativity shone brightly throughout her life; she was highly regarded for her artistic skills, particularly in lettering, and was an exceptional seamstress, capable of mastering any craft.
Professionally, Ethelda worked at Rikes Department Store, where her dedication and work ethic were evident. Outside of her career and creative pursuits, she found joy in humming Christian hymns, which reflected her spiritual life and brought comfort to those around her.
Ethelda is survived by her son, Glenn (Teresa) Izor; daughter, Louann Moyer; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Adam) Wise and Jordan (Saïd) Farkane; great-grandchildren, Weston and Sadie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ethel Dryden; husband, Robert "Bob" Izor; son, Rodney Izor; grandson, Shane McNelly; her brothers, Carl (Delores) Dryden, Lorin (Belva) Dryden, Norman (Rita) Dryden, and Alden (Vera; surviving) Dryden; and Robert's siblings, Donald (Shirley) Izor, Betty (Dave) Breeding, Marvin (Maxine) Izor, Jim (Alice) Izor, and Rosalie (Eddie) Taylor.
Ethelda's legacy lives on through her family and the countless memories cherished by those who knew her. She will be remembered for her artistic spirit, love for family, and the indelible mark she left on all who had the honor of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice in Ethelda's memory
