Ethel Mae Fletcher, a beacon of love and compassion, departed this life on May 6, 2025, at the age of ninety-three. Born on November 8, 1931, Ethel was a woman whose spirit was defined by her unwavering dedication to nurturing those around her. Known for her warmth and kindness, she exemplified the essence of a caregiver; her heart brimmed with compassion that she shared freely with family, friends, and those fortunate enough to know her.
Ethel devoted her life to the well-being of others, often found lending a helping hand or offering a listening ear. Her role as a mother and grandmother was particularly cherished, where she poured her love into the lives of her children and grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by her children, James Clevenger and his wife Brenda, and Diane Steele, who have been deeply shaped by her love and guidance. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren—Kimberly, Christopher, Jessica, Chelsea, Hannah, Izick, Joshawal, Justin, Krystal, and Kyle—who carry forward the generosity of spirit that she instilled in them. Additionally, her household was graced with a host of great-grandchildren, each one a testament to her legacy of love.
In her leisure, Ethel found pure joy in tending to her garden, where the flowers blossomed under her careful nurture, much like the relationships she fostered over her lifetime. The vibrant colors and fragrances of her blooms echoed the warmth she shared, both with her family and the wider community.
Ethel's circle of life included cherished friendships as well, exemplified by her neighbor and close confidante, Betty, along with many others who were touched by her kindness.
She leaves behind a profound legacy of care, compassion, and connection, while she joins her beloved deceased family members: her husband, Carl Fletcher; her son, Mark Fletcher; her sisters, Mary Leroy, Mabel Curry, and Nola Morgan; and her parents, Lester and Bertha Morgan. Their reunion brings the promise of peace and love.
The essence of Ethel Mae Fletcher will live on in the stories told, the memories cherished, and the lives profoundly touched by her existence. Her spirit remains a guiding light, reminding us all to care deeply, love wholly, and honor the bonds that connect us.
