Estelle P. Dryer, age 86, passed away at her home in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She grew up in Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Dryer, and daughter-in-law Pam Dryer.
Estelle is survived by her children Cherrie (John) Treber, Donna Dryer, Bob (Sharon) Dryer, Charlie Dryer, and Lynn (Ray) McCoy; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Eileen Samad; cousin, Lonnie Vaughn, and many other relatives and friends.
Estelle was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Family / St. Mary Catholic Churches since she moved to Dayton in 1965. In her later years she really enjoyed her fellowship time with other parishioners of the Jubilee and Bible study groups.
One of her most satisfying accomplishments was receiving her degree from Sinclair College at the age of 60. After her retirement from Montgomery County Health District she had more time to devote to her first love, gardening and working in her yard. The ivy-covered hillside sprinkled with touches of color from the flowers she planted created a serene setting in her backyard.
Estelle was a devout Catholic seeded deeply in her prayer life. It was her understanding in the suffering of the Cross that aided her so much in her battle with cancer, as she took this as an offering for her children, grandchildren, relatives and others.
