Erich E. Heppner

Heppner, Erich E., age 71 of Oakwood, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on February 19, 2016. He was born in Germany in 1945 and came to America with his family in 1952. Erich attended The Ohio State University, where he earned his degree in architecture in 1970 and was in practice for 45 years and owning his own firm since 1988. Erich loved to travel and enjoyed being outdoors: walking, biking, and gardening were a few of his favorite pastimes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gustav Heppner. Erich leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife of 46 years, Edith Heppner; mother, Meta Heppner; children, Theresa Heppner, Stefanie (Tyler) Campbell, Nicholas (Christina) Heppner, and Erica (Brandon) Prather; grandchildren, Teddy, Sam, Jack, and Will Campbell; Jacqueline, Anna, and Emily Heppner; and Matthew, Simon, and Benjamin Prather; and many loving friends.

Erich was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 3pm at Oakwood United Methodist Church, 206 E. Hadley Ave. Oakwood, OH 45419. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Erich's memory to Hospice of Dayton.
