Eric A. Carmon, a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 66. Born on March 31, 1959, in New York City, NY, Eric lived a life that was characterized by love, humor, and unwavering loyalty to his family and friends.
Eric proudly served his country for six years in the 82nd Airborne of the U.S. Army, a testament to his bravery and dedication. Following his military service, he carried that same spirit of commitment into all aspects of his life. He was known not only for his service but for being a good man and an exemplary husband to his beloved wife, Rhonda Carmon, with whom he shared 33 joyous years and loving and protective brother to his sister Charlette.
Eric's life was enriched by his family, including his daughters, Michelle Geter and Tasha Robinson, who he raised with love and affection. He adored his grandchildren: Devontae Geter, Tasheona Robinson, Luther Robinson, Jr., Nyla Robinson, and Ty'mere Robinson, and he took immense joy in welcoming two great-grandchildren, Zyelle Robinson and Devontae Geter, Jr. to the family. Eric's sister, Charlette Carmon, along with his dear aunt, Mary Williams, and cousin, Rodney Williams, held a special place in his heart. He was also fortunate to have a second mother, Delores Ramsey-Dancy, who offered him guidance and support throughout his life.
As a man of great character, Eric had a remarkable sense of humor; memories shared among his family reveal moments of laughter and playful banter. He once jokingly advised his sister that under no circumstances could she date a Michigan fan, a lighthearted reminder of his passion for football. Eric was a devoted supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the North Carolina Tar Heels, taking great pleasure in watching games and rallying for his teams. In addition to football, he enjoyed the thrill of NHRA racing, with John Force being his favorite driver.
Throughout his life, Eric forged lasting friendships that spanned decades. His lifelong friends—Scott, Less, Ted, Gina, and Krista—will forever remember him for his kindness, humor, and extraordinary spirit.
Eric was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Carmon, his mother, Gloria Carmon, and brother, Charlie Carmon. Their memory and influence shaped him into the compassionate individual that so many loved and admired.
