Enoch Eugene Slaton

April 25, 1932 — April 14, 2017

Enoch Eugene "Gene" Slaton of Englewood, Ohio 84, passed away peacefully on Friday April 14, 2017 at home surrounded by family. Gene was born April 25, 1932 to Connie and Fannie (Davenport) Slaton, in Whitley County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years Beryl, son Douglas, daughter Lisa, and brother Cornelius. Gene is survived by his son Curtis (Brigid), daughter in law Vickie, grandsons Joe (Sabrina), Dan (Brielle), Ian and Ben, granddaughter Sally, great granddaughter Madelyn, brothers Clifford, Spokane, WA and Clyde (Ruth) Kettering, OH, sisters Maude Randall Naples, FL, Ruth Bayse , Kettering, OH, Mossie Bunch, Lexington, KY, Pauline Kennedy, Springboro, OH and Evelyn Green, Hamilton, OH. Gene was retired from Emery Worldwide. Gene was a Trustee of The United Christian Church, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Knollwood Masonic Lodge, a Kentucky Colonel and VP of the Reserve at Timber Ridge Home Owners Association. Gene was an avid golfer and for many years managed the Gene Slaton Senior Golf League. Gene graduated from Urbana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. A celebration of Gene's life and services will be held at the United Christian Church on Hoke Road, Englewood, Pastor Coleen Beasecker officiating on May 6th. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and services will be at 5:00 p.m. A special thanks to all of the nurses, especially Tim, and staff of Hospice of Dayton.
