Emma L. Walsh

Emma L. Walsh, born on September 30, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio passed away on October 14, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. 

Emma devoted more than 20 years of service to the City of Dayton before her retirement. She was known for the pride she took in her home, keeping everything tidy and organized, and she also enjoyed shopping and listening to music. Above all, Emma adored her family--her love, care, and steady presence will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy Cooper and Michele Walsh. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Ciara Aaron, Cheyenne Cooper, Cienna Cooper, and Hayden Walsh, as well as her great-granddaughters, Olivia Crigler and Riley Cooper. Emma is also survived by her sister, Nina (Jim) Beverly; step-mother, Barbara Morrow; her step-sister, Barbara “Bobbi” Mcilvain; and numerous extended family members and special friends who will continue to cherish her memory.

Emma was preceded in death by her father, John Morrow; her son, William David Lewis; her sisters, Connie Morrow and Debra Ford; and her granddaughter, Jaylen Rigby. Their memories remained a lasting part of her life and her family’s story.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with her nephew, Thomas Beverly to officiate.  

Emma will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her hardworking spirit, and the warmth she brought to everyday life. Her memory will live on in the family she loved so deeply and in the many lives touched by her care and presence.
