Emma Lou Rice

Emma Lou Rice, age 88, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020. She was born May 11, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Alvin and Helen Wiley.

Emma was a life-long resident of Dayton and attended Kiser High School. Later in life, she attended Sinclair Community College where she received a degree in Mental Health. For many years, she worked for Eastway as a counselor. She and Hobert were long-time members of the Huber Heights Church of God.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She cherished time with her family and enjoyed the laughter and shouts of the children. Emma was a generous, kind woman who opened her home to others, especially children.

She enjoyed traveling to Florida, flower gardening, and sewing. She loved to cook and feed everyone she could. Emma had a passion for shopping, especially for shoes, and had a pair to match every outfit.

In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert in 2018.

Emma will be missed by her loving children, Marcia (Chuck); son, Russ (Debbie); grandchildren, Shelli (Joe), Randall, Ryan; great grandchildren, Meghan (Joe), Hailey (Garrett), Sarah, Macey, Lillian, Rowan, Erin, Rien; great-great grandchildren, Alaina, Wyatt and Nora; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Roberts and Betty Jo Stephens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon at Huber Heights Church of God, 6900 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights, Ohio. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
