Ellis Earl Lucas "Big Country", born November 7, 1960 in Greenwood, Mississippi. Ellis departed this life on August 26, 2026 breaking the hearts of many. The love people have for Him can't even be explained; He loved us all greatly as well. The community loved Him, His brotherhood and friends as well. He would be a helping hand for anyone in need. As well as giving you some good southern stern advice at the same time. One of a kind. Family is what grounded Him; and you didn't have to be blood to Be His' Family.
Country loved to dance, dress to impress, just have a good ol' time. Don't forget when He's ready for you to get out; oh He's going to let you know! Rather He's upset with you or not; If He ever told you that He loves you; Best believe that He meant it!
Ellis had many names he was known for, Peanut, Big Country, Big Guy, Big C, Dawg, Unc, O.G..... Just overall a God Father to all.
Country loved His community and the Children. He had Easter egg hunts for the neighborhoods at Broadway and McCabe park.
His foundation was instilled in Mississippi. It's what shaped Him to what He became for us here in Ohio; where he has lived half of His life at. Family was Country's core foundation; and let us all remember Him and strive for that same love that He had.
Ellis was preceded in death by His parents, Sarah Lee (Lucas) Johnson and Frank Johnson. By His siblings, Pearlie Rolling, Troy Johnson, Dale Johnson, Johnny Johnson and step daughter Brandi Sims- Barney.
Ellis leaves to cherish His everlasting memories: Wife Geraldine Sims- Lucas, Children Donovan(Brandy) and Jessica. Step children Joi(Stephan Sr.) and Nathaniel Sr. Grandchildren Peyton, Aaryn, Nathaniel Jr., Hazel, Marcellis, Stephan Jr., Bryana, Jayla and William.
Siblings Earnest L. Bernard, Willie J. Rolling, Veola D. Hill, Larry Johnson, Prophet Willie Johnson, Jackie Johnson and Charles Johnson.
