Elizabeth M. Duke, born on October 26, 1930, in Jackson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home in Miamisburg, Ohio, on January 3, 2026 at the age of 95. She lived a remarkable life filled with resilience and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew her.

Elizabeth began her career at Ohio Suburban Water Company, where she demonstrated her incredible work ethic and determination. Starting as a receptionist, she advanced to the position of Accountant/Comptroller, a journey that exemplified her strength and commitment to overcoming obstacles. Colleagues and friends respected her professionally and personally, as she truly embodied the spirit of a hard-working individual.

Her love story with her husband, William "Bill" Duke, began in Dayton, where they met and subsequently married in Gatlinburg. Together, they created a beautiful life, moving to Marietta, Georgia, and later to Pensacola, Florida, where they resided for over thirty years. Eventually, their desire to be closer to family brought them back to Miamisburg, where they continued to build lasting memories together.

Elizabeth was not only a devoted wife and mother but also a passionate gardener, finding joy in nurturing plants and creating vibrant spaces. Her strength of character earned her the affectionate recognition of being "one hell of a woman," a phrase that captures her indomitable spirit and the profound impact she had on those who surrounded her.

She is survived by her loving husband, William "Bill" Duke; daughter, Carol (Tim) Schaiper; and step-sons, David Duke and Michael (Renetta) Duke. Elizabeth also leaves behind the memory of her late daughter, Vicki Elaine Ramey, and her sisters, Susan, Mary, and Allie Ruth, who have predeceased her.

Elizabeth M. Duke will be remembered fondly for her unwavering strength, love for her family, and her zest for life. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she touched throughout her life.
