Elizabeth Carlisle, also known as "Ponytail", age 84 of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2018. She was beautifully born in Auburn, AL on July 9, 1933 to the late Louise and Enoch Marshall. Elizabeth was a fun-loving woman who loved to dance. She enjoyed listening to music and it often caused her to dance even when she may not have been feeling at her best. She enjoyed sewing and cooking in her free time.
She took extraordinary pride in her family and the love that she showed toward her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unforgettable. Elizabeth had a giving and generous heart, she never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. Although she had 5 biological children, she was "mom" to many. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Many can say they learned how to cook, love, as well as show hospitality and kindness from Elizabeth. Her smile was contagious and loving.
Elizabeth was a God-fearing woman who was baptized at Santa Clara Apostolic Temple in 1991. She regularly attended church for as long as she was physically able to. Her presence made any room bright. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Marshall and Eddie Marshall; sisters, Vella Mae Bowen and Willie B. Marshall; grandchildren, Timothy DeVoise, and Annshenita Delake Carlisle; great-grandchild, Dion Ray Echols and special friend, Marvel Hagen.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory, children, Betty Drake, Mary Wright, Matthew Carlisle, Elizabeth Molden, and Christopher (Charlotte) Carlisle; sister, Daisy Sprueil; step-sisters, Paris Marshall, Carrie Marshall, Penny Marshall, Ethel Marshall; step-brothers, John Marshall, and Jimmy Marshall; 18 loving grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
