Lockwood, Elberta, 78 of Fairborn, went to be with Jesus on 13 March 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on 25 January 1940 to the late Royce and Bessie (Glenn) Shearer in Clover Bottom, KY.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother in law, Alonzo and Ettie Lockwood; brother, James Shearer; sisters, Faye Kotalik and Wanda Kotalik.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Knight of Concord, NC; her husband, Edward of 60 years survives her along with their children, Jonathan (Glenda) Lockwood of Clarkesville, TN, Neina Diurno of Fairborn, Benjamin (Karen) Lockwood of Fairborn and Chad Lockwood of Fairborn; she also leaves to cherish her eight grandchildren, Joshua (Meghan) Lockwood of Hendersonville, TN, Christopher (Stephanie) Lockwood of Clarkesville, TN, Daniel Lockwood of Nashville, TN, Blair Tackis of Vandalia, Lindsey Blair of Fairborn, Nicole (Charlie) Johnson of Dayton, Neina Lockwood of Fairborn and Dakota Lockwood of Fairborn; great grandchildren, Gavin, Rachel, and Aiden Lockwood, Sophia Tackis, Sylus Bluser, Pyper Kyer, Landon and Ledger Lockwood, Kellan Johnson and Samuel Lockwood also survive her; her beloved God family, Roger and Shirley Swank along with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will always be a loving part of our family. She left behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was a member of Old Pathway Pentecostal Church in Dayton.
Our family would like to thank the staff of Soin Medical Center and Hospice of Miami Valley for their excellent care.
Family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 AM on Monday, 19 March 2018 at Newcomer North, 4104 Needmore Rd. where a funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM with her son, Rev. Jonathan Lockwood officiating the ceremony. Final interment will be in Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.
