Elaine Kathleen Granger, 61, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on September 23, 1964 in Rome, NY, Elaine lived a life defined by kindness, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to the people and animals she loved. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued, whether they were lifelong friends or complete strangers. Her beautiful smile, sparkling eyes, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Even during her illness, Elaine faced each day with remarkable grace and determination. She rarely complained and remained focused on the people she loved rather than her own struggles. Her courage inspired everyone around her and was a reflection of the extraordinary woman she was.
Above all else, Elaine was a devoted mother. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she poured her heart into caring for those she loved. Her daughter will forever carry with her the lessons, strength, and love her mother so freely gave. In recent years, one of her greatest blessings was becoming a grandmother to her twin grandchildren, whom she referred to as “my babies.” She treasured every moment spent with them and delighted in watching them grow. Though we wished for more time, the memories she created with them will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Celeste Granger, and son-in-law, Kevin French; her beloved twin grandchildren, Vivian and Vincent; her devoted companion of 29 years, James “Rob” Robinson; her sister, Diane Lorelle, and her husband, Michael Engler; her brother, Roger Lorelle, and his wife, Dana Lorelle; their children, Catherine, Vincent, Dominic, Monica, and Claire; as well as many other cherished family members and dear friends. While our hearts are broken, we are profoundly grateful for the privilege of loving her and being loved by her. Her absence leaves an immeasurable void, but her legacy will live on in all of us.
