Eileen Engle, age 85 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 2, 2026. She was born April 29, 1941 in Vest, Kentucky. The daughter of the late George and Fairellen "Sissy" Dobson.

Eileen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She retired after 20 plus years from Miami Valley Hospital as a PCT. After retirement, she went on to work at the Widow's Home for many years. Her pride and joy was her family and her fur babies. Eileen had a passion for coloring, cooking for others, and watching her Soap Operas. The love of her life was her partner John, who she enjoyed spending as much time outdoors with as she could. Eileen will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her and everyone she knew will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her son, Gary Smith I.; son-in-law, Todd Bell; great grandson, Stephen Engle Jr.; and 6 siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, John Gebele; her beloved fur baby, Molly; children, Wayne (Shawna) Smith, Lisa (Bill) Harlow, and Angie Engle; grandchildren, Amber (William) Horner, Jason Bell, Stephen (Jerrica) Engle, Katy Smith, Ashleigh (Andrew) Cranmore, Mason (Sara) Bell, Ceara (Wayne) Tidwell, Eddie Smith, Gary (Taylor) Smith, and Wanda Smith; 14 great grandchildren with one on the way, sister, Girlie Fuller; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
