Edward E. Steinberger, born on September 27, 1956, in Washington, D.C., passed away on March 6, 2026. He lived a full and memorable life, marked by dedication to his career, a deep love for his family, and a passion for the great outdoors.
Edward had a long career working for AGC Automobile, where he dedicated 30 years of service before retiring. His work was a reflection of his steadfast commitment and diligence, traits that defined him both in his professional and personal life.
Raised in a military family as the son of Charles Steinberger and Mary Jane Steinberger, Edward experienced a dynamic upbringing that allowed him to attend various schools across the country. He graduated from Fairborn Baker High School, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and determination.
A proud veteran, Edward served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to his country and the values he held dear. After his time in service, he cultivated a passion for the outdoors, often spending cherished moments fishing. Edward was also an avid sports fan, proudly following the Cincinnati Bengals, and he had a fondness for simple pleasures such as Reese cups, Pepsi, and watching classic television shows like The Waltons and Matlock.
Edward is survived by his loving life partner, Debra R. Steinberger; his daughter, Lea S. (Josh) Moody; his son, Thomas E. (Kayla) Steinberger; and his beloved grandchildren, Leni Jo Steinberger and Cayleb Moody. He is also survived by his sister, Kate (Larry) Sites, and his brother, Randy Steinberger, along with many cherished nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
A visitation to celebrate Edward's life will be held on March 14, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. A graveside ceremony will take place at a later date at Dayton National Cemetery. Edward E.
