Edward Anthony Seibert, “Eddie”, age 81, made his way to the Promised Land, on Good Friday, April 3rd, 2026. He was preceded in passing by his father, Louis A. Seibert, and his mother, Julia Boitor Seibert. He is survived by his devoted and adoring wife of 40 years, Cheryl Chasteen-Seibert, and his beloved children, Marc Seibert (Stephanie), Tammie Ardolino (Chris), and Matt Seibert. He is also survived by his treasured siblings, brothers: Paul Seibert (Karen), John Seibert (Patty), Fred Seibert (Debby), and sisters: Rosemary Fitzgibbon, and Kathy (Ed) Wallace. He leaves behind 3 precious grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was a Vietnam Veteran and did 2 tours of duty as an aircraft mechanic. At age 19, he was responsible for founding the Viet Orphan Project in Soc Trang, South Vietnam, which cared for, and improved the lives of 250 orphans, ages newborn to 15 years old. These children would be 62 to 77 years of age today.

Ed worked in the machine shop at General Motors for 38 years, and the last 5 years of that time worked also as the bar manager at the North Riverdale Athletic Club. Upon retiring from GM, he became a chauffeur for Westwind Limousine, for nearly 20 years. He chauffeured many celebrities during that time, including Smokey Robinson, Henry Winkler, Cher, Kid Rock, Kenny G, Rudy Giuliani, and numerous others. He later went on to become a private chauffeur, for several clients, in the Dayton area.

Ed was honest, reliable, generous, and his word was his bond. He was the consummate handyman – and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t repair. He was a passionate and skilled fisherman and a founding member of the Buckeye Bass Busters.

He was a gentle giant and will be remembered for his quick wit, generosity, and kind spirit. If you were his friend, he was your loyal friend for life. He was a man of true integrity – always doing the right thing, even when no one was watching.

Ed Seibert was a force. Not an overbearing, dominating force, but a calm, steady, consistent presence that touched everyone in his orbit. And we are all better people for having known and loved him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant”. Now, go rest high on that mountain.
