Edward Wayne Panzer Sr. was born on November 20, 1940, in Buffalo, NY, and passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. He dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country, spending 21 years as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force. Edward's military service was a source of pride for him and embodied his commitment to his nation.
Throughout his life, Edward was known for his cheerful demeanor and his willingness to help those around him. He had an infectious smile that brought joy to many, and he lived life to its fullest.
Edward had numerous hobbies and interests that brought him happiness. He enjoyed bowling, traveling in his motorhome, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR and football teams. He was an active member of several organizations, including AMVETS 444 in Fairborn, the American Legion, the VFW in Enon and New Carlisle, as well as the Forty Et Eight, Moose, and Eagles.
Above all, Edward was most proud of his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Gail Lansford Panzer, and their children: Edward W. Panzer Jr., Karen Jackson Pless, and Kristy Jackson Adcock. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Lacie Grous Mattox, Kellie G. Pless, Casey Pless, Alex Adcock, and Austin Nicole Day, as well as his great-grandchildren, Kamdon Mattox, Brayden Mattox, Carter Day, and Jackson Taylor. Edward is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Chapleau and Toni Polack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louise Panzer, as well as his siblings Carl Panzer, Frank Panzer, Lois Lapan, Charlotte Shepherd, Karen Jackson Pless and Ruth Congdon.
Edward Wayne Panzer Sr. will be remembered fondly for his unwavering spirit, dedication to family, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. His remarkable life and legacy will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
