Edward Mays, Jr., age 75, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was born April 29, 1943 in Elliott County, KY to the late Elsie (Winkleman) and Edd Mays, Sr. Ed proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a US Army Sergeant where he was stationed in Germany. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in Dayton after 33 years of service. Ed belonged to the VFW, American Legion, AmVets, Moose and Eagle Lodges. Ed was an avid fisherman and loved to dance.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Mays and sister, Edna Boggs.
Ed is survived by loving wife, Nettie Mae of 31 years; children, Sheba Cramer, Wilbur Earl Johnson, Jr., James Mitchell (Leann Shade) Johnson and Robin (James) Miller; siblings, Chesley Mays, Verna Sloan, Faye Linville, Darlene Mynhier, and Lois Barker; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family will received friends Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10am-12pm at Dodds Free Pentecostal Church of God, 3157 Old 122 Road, Waynesville, OH 45068 where a funeral service will follow at 12pm. Pastor Kelly Rogers and Evangelist Davy Boggs co-officiating. Burial to follow at Miami Cemetery in Waynesville.
