Edward Arliss Hargrave

Edward Arliss Hargrave, age 78 of Huber Heights, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020. He was born December 31, 1941 in Lexington, North Carolina, the son of the late John Hargrave and Rebecca Gilchrist.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Maurice Rankins Sr.; and step-father who raised him, James Gilchrist.
Edward is survived by his wife of 55 years, Perla; children, Tracey Fleming (Sean Collins), Chelsea Rankins, Sean (Jennifer) Hargrave, Crystal (Myron) Rankins, Brian Linden (Jimmy Linden); grandchildren, Andrew Rankins, Tosha Fleming, Aaliyah Bond, Demail Hart, Craig Bond, Mekaila Hart, Maurice Rankins Jr., Kyla Hargrave, Jaxon Hargrave, Arya Hargrave; great grandchildren, Amir Rankins, Christian Zachary; brother, Walter Hargrave; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.
Edward was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 12 pm to 1 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm in Dayton National Cemetery, with military honors.
