Edward Harrison Brown, 62, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, at West Chester Hospital.
Edward—better known as Eddie to his friends and “Big Ed” to his family—was born on June 4th, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio, to Raymond Brown and Hazel Briscoe. Eddie was a lifelong resident of the Dayton area, starting his career in maintenance at Frank Z Chevrolet in 1995 then retiring from White-Allen Chevrolet in 2024.
A long-suffering Bengals fan, Eddie was fondly known for his sense of humor, his easygoing nature, and for running the weekly NFL pick-’em games with his colleagues. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family, spending time bowling with his grandkids, and watching classic westerns—always accompanied by his signature red Solo cup filled with Brisk iced tea.
Eddie is survived by his three sons, Edward (Katie) Brown, Raymond Brown, and Jamey (Sandra) Brown; nine grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Edward and Hazel (Briscoe) Brown.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 12:00PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund in memory of Eddie.
