Edward E. Duke, Jr.

Edward E. Duke, Jr., age 70, of Jamestown, passed away June 21, 2025. Edward was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 16, 1954 to the late Edward Sr. and Lillian Bennett.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward E. Duke, III; as well as his grandson, Edward Earl Duke IV.

He is survived by loving wife, Rita Duke; daughter, DeAnne (Mike) Edwards; step-daughter, Ronita (Marvin) Zeisler; step-sons, Joseph (Angela) Kingery and David (Sandra) Kingery; brother, Richard (Melissa) Miller; sister, Debbie Leaming; sister, Brenda Miller; brother, Doug (Sonya) Miller; brother, Wade Thomas; brother, Scott Preston; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Edward retired from YUSA Corp. after 27 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Lighthouse Baptist Church for many years.

In his free time, he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Awanas, hosting family cookouts, fishing, camping, making people laugh and hanging out with his dog, Molly.

Edward was an amazing husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

Donations may be made in Edward's memory to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton) or to the Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund (2040 W. 2nd St, Xenia).

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Lighthouse Baptist Church (2040 W. 2nd St, Xenia). Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm with Josh Bevan and Alex Martin officiating.
