Edward Louis Cardulla, fondly known as Ed, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Riverside, Ohio. Born on June 12, 1945, in Titusville, PA, Ed lived a life rich with dedication, warmth, and laughter, leaving behind a legacy marked by his steadfast commitment to family, faith, country, and community.
Ed’s journey began with his graduation from Strong Vincent High School in 1963. He furthered his education by earning an associate degree from the Air Force Community College, paving the way for a distinguished military career. As a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Ed retired in 1986 after exemplary service, including two tours in the Vietnam War. His military tenure saw him stationed across the globe—in South Korea, the Philippines, Ohio and Louisiana. After his honorable service, he transitioned to a role in Vendor Management at EDS, where he worked until retirement.
A man of many facets, Ed was deeply family-oriented and known for his great sense of humor and kindness. His easygoing nature and good hearted spirit made him a joy to be around—he always found happiness in the simplest gestures, such as receiving a piece of gum, and possessed the rare ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. This generous and warm personality defined his relationships and endeared him to those fortunate enough to know him.
His greatest pride and joy were his loved ones. Ed shared an extraordinary 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Renata, with whom he shared a lifelong passion for ballroom dancing, a hobby that brought them closer for over four decades. Together, they created a nurturing environment for their children: Paul (and his partner Melissa Kirk), Gary (and his wife Terena), and Melissa (and her husband Jonathan Stringer). Ed's heart was especially full with his grandchildren—Bradley, Ethan, Catherine, Grace, and Katelyn—who brought unparalleled happiness to his life. His family remembers him with immense love and gratitude.
Ed also cherished his leisure moments such as, spending time with his pets, faithfully supporting The Ohio State football team, enjoying travel and cruises, and indulging in quiet hours spent watching The Weather Channel. Through it all, time with family remained his treasured constant.
Preceding Ed in death are his parents, Louis and Edna Cardullo, his granddaughter Madelyn Cardulla, and his siblings Carol, Russell, and Garry, each holding a dear place in his heart.
To honor Edward Louis Cardulla’s remarkable life, a visitation will be held on May 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 4:00 PM.
