Edith A. Morrow

Edith A. Morrow, age 90 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Bethany Village in Centerville. Born April 24, 1935 in Abington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Salvatore and Mary (Ciliberto) Puia.

A devoted Catholic, Edith was a longtime member of St. Henry's Church, often watching it on television. She was the heart of her family - a loving Italian mother known for her incredible cooking. She was a loyal fan of West Carrollton High School football and Ohio State football. She cheered on multiple teams, including Miami University (OH) and Michigan State, where her daughter-in-law, Maria, coached. Edith also enjoyed playing bingo.

Edith is survived by her three children: Debra Gambrell, John W. Morrow III, and Timothy Scott Morrow (Maria Fantanarosa); five grandchildren: Lauren Morrow, Allison Morrow, Erin Morrow Carranza (Adam), John Michael Morrow, and Nicole Morrow; and two great-grandchildren: Makayla Morrow and Ace Scott Carranza.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Walker Morrow Jr.; her parents; and two grandsons, Justin Ian Walker Gambrell and Scott Walker Morrow. Edith was one of twelve siblings - seven brothers: Jimmy, Frank, Angelo, Tut, Salvatore, Vito, and George - and her four sisters: Susie, Betty, Phyllis, and Angie. Family gatherings at the Puia home were filled with love, laughter, and food.

A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Bellefontaine Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dayton, especially nurses, Suzanne, Jen, and social worker, Janet, whose compassionate care made a lasting difference in Edith's final year.
