Edith M. (Franklin) Zinkiewicz, age 95, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on August 28, 1930, in Livingston, Tennessee, she exemplified a life dedicated to her faith and service to others, reflecting her unwavering devotion to Christ and the community around her.
A long-time resident of Dayton, Ohio, Edith was a faithful member of the Belmont Church of Christ for many years and had previously attended the Northridge Church of Christ. She was known for her active involvement in church activities, embodying the spirit of volunteerism and compassion by sharing her time and resources with those in need. Her selflessness and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Edith cherished her family deeply, always putting their needs before her own. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Mary (Peter) King; her grandchildren, Anna (Robert) Weber and David (Sherri) King; and her great-grandchildren Lexi, Maya, Franklin Weber, and Edward "EJ" King. Edith also leaves behind her siblings, Betty Kincade, Margie Hubbs, Wayne Hunter, and Laura Eller, along with numerous extended family members and friends who will remember her kindness and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Nellie (Adams) Hunter; her husband, Edward Franklin; her second husband, Raymond Zinkiewicz; her son, James Franklin; and her siblings Lindsey Hunter, Mary Bradford, and Steve Hunter.
A visitation will be held on December 29, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 820 Miamisburg Centerville Rd, Dayton, OH 45459. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery. Edith's life was a testament to love, faith, and the beauty of selflessness, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
