Eddie Allen Decker, of Dayton, passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 62. He was born in Dayton on July 17, 1964.
Eddie graduated from Walter E. Stebbins High School and went on to build a long career in sewage and water treatment. He worked for 15 years as lead of maintenance for Veolia Waters, where his hard work and dedication were an important part of his life.
Outside of work, Eddie enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, camping, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to the Bengals. He also loved dogs and had many over the years. Above all else, Eddie loved his family and took great joy in being a father and grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of seven years, Mary A. Decker. He also leaves behind his daughters, Chelsea Gautreaux and her husband, Luke, along with Brittany Davis and her husband Cody, Melony Decker, Monica Welch, and Madison Decker. Eddie’s love also lives on in his grandchildren, Amiyah, Carlee, Mariyah, Leiyah, Brooklynn, Kaylynn, Keira, Serenity, Bentlee, Sylus, Grayson, and Dawson, and in his great-grandson, Daxton.
He is also survived by his brother, Charles H. Decker; his sister, Debbie L. Decker; and his friend, Tom Rowe and his wife, Kris. Each of them shared in Eddie’s life and will carry his memory forward.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Carmileta Decker, and by his daughter, Mindy Decker. Their memories remained a lasting part of his life and will be remembered alongside him.
Visitation will be held on October 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Eddie will be remembered for his love of family, his enjoyment of the outdoors, and the happiness he found in the people and things he loved most.
