Ed Church

Edward Lamont Church, 76, "Monty" to his family and "Ed" to his friends, of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 10,2026 after surviving a second cancer battle. Born on July 8, 1949, in Roanoke, Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late William Cleatus and Gladys Church.

Ed proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for more than 20 years as a Pharmacy Technician. He was able to live abroad in England and Italy during his time active duty. He continued his career as a pharmacy tech, IV specialist, and in the field until his retirement. His dedication to service and his country was a defining part of his life. Ed was a jokester who enjoyed life and having a good time in life. Ed was a very proud man, honorable and decent and never left home without wearing his dress slacks and a sport coat.

Ed is lovingly remembered by his bride of 57 years, Ruby; his children, Doug Church, Lisa Church Collins (Jim DeCosta) and Michael (Lana) Church; grandchildren Ruby, Crystal and Michael Church Jr: and his sister Linda Epperly along with multiple nieces and nephews from a large extended family and many friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

Family and friends are invited to honor Ed's life during a visitation on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm. The gathering will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
