Eckard Evans, age 85 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away May 23, 2026. He was born in Craynor, KY on June 25, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Evans and Bettie (Howell) Evans; his brothers: Hatler Evans, Tivis Evans, Kendall Evans, Jay B. Evans; and sister Hattie (Evans) Howell.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie (Hall) Evans; his sons: Michael D. Evans, Johnnie Evans, Eddie Evans and Jimmy S. Evans; and his grandchildren: Diana N. Evans, Marc A. Evans and Vicktoria E. Evans.
July 8, 2026 would have been Eckard & Maggie’s 65th wedding anniversary.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia.
