Dr. Ronald Gayle Ferguson, a dedicated educator and beloved member of the Beavercreek community, passed away peacefully at his home on July 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 20, 1938, in Alpha, Ohio, he was the son of the late Merle and Dorotha Ferguson, and he cherished his roots deeply, tracing his lineage back to the first settlers of Beavercreek.

He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Navy. Gayle's journey in education was evident in his dedication and outstanding service. After earning his Doctorate of Education—following his graduation from Beavercreek High School and attendance at Ohio State University, Wright State University and Miami University—he retired after an impressive career in the Beavercreek School System, where he began as a Teacher, then an Assistant Principal, on to a Principal, finally culminating as the Superintendent. His leadership also extended to a period of service as the Superintendent of the Wilmington School System and as a member of the Board of Education.
