Dr. Robert P. "Tim" Smith, age 86 of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Traditions of Beavercreek. He was born January 2, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Russell and Margaret (Porter) Smith. Tim married Judy Reynolds on March 11, 1961 in Akron, OH.
Tim graduated from Columbus North High School before becoming a student at The Ohio State University. Upon graduating in 1957 with an engineering degree, he worked several years in Akron for Firestone and Goodyear. While in Akron he met the love of his life, Judy Reynolds and they recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. After six years in engineering he decided to change careers and entered Ohio State as a dental student, earning a DDS degree. After a year serving an internship in Fort Worth, TX, he started his dental practice in Beavercreek, OH in 1968 and retired in 2000.
Tim is survived by his wife, Judith; a daughter, Cindy (James L.) Ballmann; two grandchildren, Ashley Ballmann and Aaron Lamatsch; a younger brother, Ted Smith and his wife Jean; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Stephanie R. Lamatsch and Stacy E. Smith.
The world has lost a great man. Tim had strong Christian beliefs, he was a loving, dedicated and loyal husband and father. The void he leaves behind is enormous but does not compare to the love he brought to those closest to him.
Tim was an avid reader, a sports enthusiast as a spectator and participant. Tim and Judy were part time residents of Marco Island, Florida from 1981 to 2016. He will be remembered for the wonderful friendships he built throughout his life as a true friend, and as a sensitive caring dentist with his patients.
Memorial contributions can be made in Tim's name to Hospice of Miami Valley or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
