Douglas N. Tibbs, age 49 of Kettering, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2019. He was born in Kettering to Roy and Dorothy Tibbs on September 17, 1969. Doug graduated from Fairmont High School in 1988.
Doug was an avid hockey fan. He was a fan of the Dayton Demons. He had a compassionate heart and loved spending time with his cats, Tigger and Oz. He enjoyed following politics and current events. Doug had a great sense of humor and could light up a room with his smile and laugh. Doug was a loving, caring, and loyal son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Roy Tibbs; brothers, Kenneth and Michael Tibbs; and uncle, Willie Tibbs.
Douglas leaves to cherish his memory, loving mother, Dorothy Tibbs; brother, Christopher Tibbs; aunts and uncles, Geneva Pence, Para Tibbs, Devonia Phillips, Minnie (Billy) Watson, Daisy Ratliff, and Carl Ratliff; special friends, Stacey Fisk and Robert and Bonnie Kirchner; and many loving cousins and other dear friends.
A funeral service honoring Douglas's life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 12pm at Newcomer - North Chapel. Pastor Leon Collins to officiate.Visitation to be held for one hour prior to service (11am - 12pm).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doug's memory to the NHL - Hockey Fights Cancer or to the Montgomery County Humane Society.
